THE CAR

This is a genuine UK right-hand-drive 1982 Porsche 924 Turbo that has clearly been cherished throughout it's life. It is a Series 2 car with the 177hp engine. 1982 was the final year of 924 Turbo production in most markets, and only 1,819 were built worldwide that model year, of which just 943 were to Rest of World specification.

It is a very scarce Porsche.

It shows 104,238 miles and comes with a history file that includes invoices dating back to the 1980s, previous MOT certificates, the original stamped service book and a full set of maintenance records. It has had six owners from new, including one long-term keeper from 1988 to 2013. It was recommissioned in 2013 after a period of storage and has since had enthusiastic ownership and considerable expenditure to make it drive as well as it looks.

Originally supplied by AFN Porsche, the car keeps its authentic character, with a number of carefully chosen upgrades and plenty of preventative maintenance. The cambelt was replaced in 2020, and the most recent service was in April 2024.

CONDITION

This is an impressive car for its age. The Alpine White paint is bright and even, with no significant dents or scratches, and the wheels are virtually unmarked. Inside, the Grey Berber seats and the steering wheel are particularly well preserved, with only a few age-related cracks to the dashboard, as you'd expect on a 40-plus-year-old Porsche. The engine bay is exceptionally clean, and the boot is tidy and retains its original fabric parcel shelf, spare wheel, jack and tool kit.

The car has benefited from sympathetic ownership and genuine mechanical attention, not just cosmetic preparation.

HISTORY AND DOCUMENTATION

The history file is one of this car's major attractions. It is a comprehensive ring binder with invoices going back to the 1980s, previous MOT certificates, service documentation and the original stamped service book. Much of the early servicing was done by Porsche main dealers, which shows the car has been regularly maintained throughout its life
